We believe in everyday luxury: Crème Brûlée shouldn’t wait for special occasions (“nobody puts brûlée-by in a corner!”)
Like Joan Jett, we think it’s our job to carry the torch.
Who We Are
CremeBru.LA started as a tiny table at the Amherst Farmers Market in 2021. We didn’t have a business plan—just a torch, a few jars of custard, and the idea that a classic dessert could be both simple and surprising when served fresh. What began as a way to create something joyful during COVID quickly turned into a small but steady following. Five years and tens of thousands of jars later, we’re still here, torching every dessert by hand.
What We Believe
Crème brûlée doesn’t have to be fussy. Ours isn’t served on white tablecloths or plated with tiny sprigs of mint. It’s served in reusable glass jars, with flavors that feel both classic and unexpected: Maple, Vanilla, Sweet Corn, Cappuccino, Mexican Chocolate. We ‘re an everyday luxury, an indulgence that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
The Real Beginning
We technically started as a driveway BBQ business in LA (ask us about that some day), but within two weeks we’d pivoted to desserts and never looked back. The real story began after we moved to Amherst in late 2020. By April 2021, we were torching at the Amherst Farmers Market, where we sold out our first two weeks. Within months, we’d added Easthampton Farmer’s Market, The Belchertown Farmer’s Market, the Northampton Farmer’s Market and from there, things snowballed.
Markets soon led to festivals and concerts all over the Northeast. We’ve torched at the Hadley Asparagus Festival, Amherst Block Party, Boston Local Food Festival and in 2025, the massive Brimfield Flea Market and (drumroll!) the Big E where we serve hundreds customers a day. Along the way, we’ve partnered with with amazing venues like Black Birch Vineyard and the nationally renowned Treehouse Brewing Company as well as bars and restauraunts including The Archives, Amherst Coffee, Highbrow and Savannah’s.
What started with farmers markets now includes catering for birthdays, bar mitzvahs, engagement parties, weddings, and corporate events. Clients like Amherst College, Bain Capital, Greenfield Community College, and the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce have trusted us to bring extra heat to their gatherings.
We’re proud of our local roots and the people who keep our flavors honest. Among them: Atkins Farms, Amherst Coffee, Bergeron Sugar House, Sunrise Farms, Fogbuster Coffee. Hall Poultry Farm, Mapleline Farm, Quabbin Hill Farm, Red Fire Farm and many more.
